Lovers' Past

My friens wrote this.. She did quite a good job on it... Its very interesting and also quite touching..

Blinded I was by how I thought our love could last,
I never knew it would end so fast.
You carved at my heart and made it yours,
And when you left I had nothing but remorse.
The regret however was not that I had loved you,
Rather that I could not stop you.
As you walked away with strife,
I could swear you took away my life.
Day by day I can’t help but think,
About our promises that were permanent as ink.
I never knew it would be this hard,
Waiting pointlessly for my imaginary birthday card.
Words could never eress,
How I longed for that gentle caress.
Your voice was my guiding light,
Without it I’m lost on this bitter night


Perhaps it was fate that brought us together,
Your smile made my heart as light as a feather.
Your words as you said goodbye however,
Crushed me forever.
Putting on a façade of smiles,
I can’t let you know that for you I’d cross a million miles.
Everyday I tried looking away,
Knowing that it will just be the same each day.
I know it’s wrong to dwell on the past,
But these memories are just too hard to cast.
I need you so much that I would cross any line,
And how I wish….that you were still mine.
